Vattraatha Oottrukkal

Vattraatha Oottrukkal is the second Tamil poetry compilation of Y S Rajan following Nenjaga Malargal. The poems therein were written during 1999 - 2001. The encouraging reception to the first poetry book (Nenjaga Malargal) brought out many poetic springs out of him, which is what Vattraatha Oottrukkal (Perennial Springs). Has a foreword / appreciation by Mr N Vittal, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) and a multi-language scholar. Authors' initial long note gives a good glimpse of his inner feeling and sources of the springs. These cover poems from 1999 to 2001. It has 38 poems in 112 pages. Themes vary from Nation, Society, Personal existentialism, Philosophy, Nature, Economics, Origins of PURA, One of Phoolan Devi. A great diversity, typical of the author.

During its release function, the persons present were: C Mahaendran, Ponneelan, Prof. Sirpi Balasubramaniam, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu. There was a uniform praise for the poems, the depth and breadth - and Bharati's effect. There is a blessing song by Dr Abdul Kalam included in the book. All of them appreciated the poet-scientist and the scientist - poet.

The song 'Walk Walk' and 'Neem Tree' had special appreciation in many later reviews.

The author welcomes persons who desire to translate it into English, Hindi and other languages.
