Arabic Original Writing In India
I was recently in Manipal for a India - Kuwait Cooperation Workshop at the Manipal University. Idea was to explore economically sustainable business and other cooperation activities. In addition to usual businesses, there is a lot of scope of education sector as well for training Kuwaiti students in Knowledge Economy oriented skills.
In that Workshop, I learnt from a scholar whom I respect that there are a number of original Arabic writings in various parts of India written by Arabic scholars, traders and others who had been in India during 8th century onwards. They are with individual families and institutions. They have not come in public domain. All of them are a rich source of historic material.
If any one of you who read this website, may think of approaching Embassies for Arabic countries and Indian institutions to fund a project to search for these and document them / translate them. Yes, you have to do some home work. This is an exciting area. Also will give you a good income to pursue a scholastic subject.
